Brew Pal provides the all-grain or extract home brewer easy access to the most used calculations and statistics in an attractive, easy-to-use package.

- Grains and Extract
Enter your grain bill by selecting from predefined grains and quickly estimate your SRM (color), original and final gravities, as well as alcohol % given your efficiency and yeast attenuation.

- Hops
Enter your hop additions by selecting from predefined hops and quickly estimate your IBU (bitterness). Supports dry hopping.

- Miscellaneous Additions
Enter flavorings and finings by selecting from a predefined list. Supports boil and fermenter additions.

- Yeast
Pick your yeast from a predefined list and set your pitching rate.

- Mash and Sparge
Calculate the amount and temperature of strike and sparge water you will need to hit specific temperatures. Supports calculations of multiple infusions or decoctions.

- Gravity calculator
Using either a hydrometer or refractometer, and correct for alcohol content.

- Styles comparison
Compare your recipe with BJCP style guidelines. Brew Pal can show you only the styles that closely match your recipe, or present a complete list of BJCP styles.

- Color and flavor charts
Compare your beer with SRM color swatches or spin the flavor wheel to narrow in on that taste or smell.

- Load/Save/Import/Export
Save your current recipe on your device... Load saved recipes from your device... E-mail any saved recipe to yourself... Import from iTunes or URL

- Timers/Calendar
Carry your mash, boil and fermentation timers with you. Get audible and vibrating reminders of important steps, and view your fermentation calendar on the go.

- Settings
Change your settings in a single tab.

Enter as much information as you have about your brew; estimates and averages are provided to fill in the blanks. Brew Pal remembers what you have entered so if your session is interrupted by a telemarketers call, dont worry--your data is safe.

Good app, needs a few tweaks but very extensive features should cover most situations. LOVE the brew timer, its worth it for that feature alone (timers go off as you program in your boil schedule, additions etc). Everything else is gravy.

Very good app! Been using it for almost two years now and it is very useful. And the batch timer is SO useful.

Can now start from any part of the brewing process and skip forward. Great app for all things brewing related

Brew Pal is incredibly well made software that’s indispensable to my brewing. Excellent app; very courteous and helpful developer, and responsive. iPhone 5 screen size was supported in days after my request; this was no small task for an indie dev! Keep up the great work! :-)

About time I reviewed this - Brew Pal has been key to many successful all grain brew sessions so its time to say thanks! Way easier to use and just as powerful as the other app that gets mentioned in the forums. More intuitive to use, way better for changing units of measure on the fly, easy to customize ingredients characteristics, better for recipe scaling, nice interface. Brew day functions could be improved. Could use an updated and expanded grain list.

Some bad moments

This app used to be great! But After a recent update I lost all my recipes and the alarms for brewing “events’ do not work. Time to look for another brew app. Would like a refund since I purchased this app last January and it has been broken since the summer so I didn’t get much use.

Disappointed to find that the app wont work on my ipod 4 because it requires IOS 7. This is Bull$hit. I know there were older versions, why not offer on ethat is compatable.

If youve never used quality brewing software before, and dont do all-grain, then you "might" think this is neat. However, it has NEVER had enough in it to do serious all-grain brewing, like Beersmith, Beeralchemy, and other PC programs. That was OK, cause it was cheap and had a bunch of calculators, like converting Brix to Specific Gravity with refractometer adjustment. But the new release is broken and buggy! They tried to do more with the brewing part, failed on that, and then deleted all the useful tools! ITS NOW WORTHLESS! Give me the old, working version or give me my money back! Updated to 3.1 - now crashes, POS!

I have enjoyed using Brewpal to develop, monitor, and save all my beer recipes. I decided to use their iCloud sync feature so I could have my recipes portable to share with Homebrew club members. I turned on the sync feature and all my recipes disappeared!! I went back to the original device and names of brews were there but the ingredients had been wiped away. Now even the names are gone and all my saved work is lost. I emailed support weeks ago, no response!! Im moving to an alternative and secure app.

This last update wiped out half of my recipe database. Worthless.

So many problems now. I never right reviews but in the last 10 days the app has gone crazy, disappeared from the App Store, reappeared, lost all my recipes, recipes returned, recipes gone again. Contacted app maker with no word back from them. Horrible and frustrating.
